Ty Harmon, a Ringling College of Art & Design graduate, has devoted his life to creative storytelling and the pursuit of artistic expression through a wide assortment of different visual mediums. His story started with pencil and ink, pulling inspiration from movies, TV shows and video games. From there, he entered into the realm of 3D, fascinated by game development and how to operate in this new dimension through videogame engines and modeling/animation programs. With solid backgrounds in both 2D and 3D, Ty worked for several different game companies as an environment artist. He created game trailers for the classic Francis Ford Coppola film, Apocalypse Now, and John Carpenter's Halloween franchise. He also collaborated with indie companies making environment and concept art before entering into the previs/postvis world of Hollywood. Since then, he has been a visualization artist with over 6 years experience on 65 plus unique projects ranging from film, television, game trailers, commercials and theme park rides. Ty has extensive experience creating environments and characters for Game of Thrones along with the Star Wars and Marvel franchises. He draws inspiration from creatives like Robert Eggers, Simon Stålenhag, and Adrian Smith to name a few. He is driven by the goal of telling a story without speaking or reading a word, but by instead setting a tone, manifesting an atmosphere, and creating a real experience for others to be immersed into.
